Quality
The kindergarten programme is largely based on the Vista Coop’s Ethos (link) and on the National Curriculum Framework (link) and aims to enhance the holistic development of all the children; their intellectual, social, physical, emotional and moral development.
The physical environment of the Kindergarten is welcoming and bright in order to stimulate the children’s creativity and learning. Two rooms accommodate children of 3 and 4 years whilst a central ‘pjazza’ will provide the perfect setting for messy activities as well as an opportunity for all the children to meet and play together. Cookery is a weekly activity. Here children learn about healthy choices for life as well as basic scientific principles, through measurement, handling of various ingredients etc. Outdoor play is an essential daily activity, come rain or shine, that is a time for letting off energy as well as an opportunity for learning through observation, even of our rabbits and chickens, building and construction and water-play.
Our teachers
Our teachers provide equal chances for each child to learn and develop to their full potential, taking into account the age and stage of development of each child, their ability, gender, ethnicity and language.
Our staff gives to all children access to a range of books, toys and educational material and which provide positive images and examples of the diversity of life reflecting today’s society.
We are committed to help children feel good about themselves and others, through the value of diversity which makes each and every child a unique individual.
Language of instruction
Both Maltese and English are used as languages of instruction. We acknowledge the situation where there are children who at home either speak Maltese only or English only. In Malta both these languages are official therefore it is important that children are exposed to both languages and learn to use them correctly in early years.
